The iron hatch used to be standard in stoves. You only knew that there was even a fire burning in there if the hatch was open. Just a few years ago, stoves only had a framed, flat door glass made from heat-resistant glass ceramic. Now, many stoves have windows that would have credited any stove in the past. Stoves today often provide a view from three sides. Even an unrestricted all-round view is possible – just like a campfire. Apart from that, the trend is: the bigger the better.
New experiences, new possibilities.New production methods enable an unimaginable wealth of shapes. Whether flat, curved or angular - almost anything is possible! And that's not all. Innovative surface designs create interesting new nuances. With coloured glass ceramic (such as ROBAX® Ambience), exterior cladding of stoves can be black, dark grey or white, also available with decorations in 15 different colours. And also the window itself can be decorated with colours giving them an individual hue. This provides new design possibilities for fireplaces and stoves.
SCHOTT ROBAX® glass ceramics.Of course, all colours used on SCHOTT ROBAX® glass ceramics are lead-free and high temperature- and abrasion-resistant. In addition to the established colours "polar white" and "amber gold", the international technology group SCHOTT now offers the additional shades "tin grey" and "volcano grey", "pure black" and "mystic black", as well as "autumn red" for the ROBAX® stove windows. Glass ceramic panels don’t, however, just fulfill an aesthetic aspect. The most innovative product by SCHOTT, ROBAX® Energy Plus, reflects up to 35% of the heat radiation back into the combustion chamber – an important component for water-heating stoves. This not only saves fuel and preserves the environment; the higher combustion chamber temperatures are also very advantageous, as they reduce the polluting effect of the window. ROBAX® Energy Plus is available in flat as well as curved shapes for the first time, and naturally in numerous sizes. For maximum thermal insulation, the initial stove models are also available with double glazing.
